Does anyone hae a 18'' madame alexander doll? I want one, but before I buyh one I want to make sure I know all the pros and cons. PLEase help!!! 10 pints for best answer!!!!
First I need to ask you what year they have been made since the 1920's. Personally I like the older dolls from the early 50's, and some of the cloth dolls from 1940's. Also the twist bodies from 1937.
www.dollreference.com/index.html goes through the 1970's, the later Madame Dolls do not hold the values as do the early dolls. They are very expensive first time sold then you turn to sell next year and the are 1/4 the value. There are many books on Madames to one that is very nice is "Madame Alexander Dolls An American legend"
So if you want to give me a doll you want to know about I can tell you because I sell them on ebay.
